My name is Jade Lawrence

I am an interdisciplinary designer who creates human-centred design experiences across games and interaction design. Creativity has been a prominent part of my life, seeking out inspiration from art, literature and other creative media. I am particularly drawn to works that spark joy and imagination often seeking out these experiences both at home and during my travels.

Video games have become my favourite design medium as they allow me to bring together several creative passions including art, storytelling, UI and UX interactions and mechanics into a single experience. Pixel art is my favourite medium for game art as it is timeless with its charming cozy aesthetic. I am currently developing games for my own indie game company Shiny Owl with a focus on multiplayer experiences, as I want to make games that encourage connection, teamwork and strategy.

My approach to design is grounded in my values of research, user testing and feedback, ensuring that my designs are enjoyable and accessible for maximum user engagement. I would describe my design style as playful, adaptive and collaborative, with confidence in leading projects as well as contributing to team environments. Ultimately, I strive to leave users with meaningful and memorable designs that resonate with them beyond the experience.
