Captain Sora's Sea Scurry

Top-down racer, pirate, adventure, endless (GDevelop 5, 2024)

This game is a shoot ‘em up game where the player fights their way through a dungeon to reach the long-coveted treasure. The player attempts to survive each monster encounter by dodging bouncing slime balls, spinning bones, and sharp teeth. The player can protect themselves with their soul bullets, shooting enemies and projectiles in their sight.

My Role

  • Producer/Team lead and Artist

  • Created the initial game prototype that this game was built upon including programming, mechanics and art​

  • Communicated games themes, mechanics and overall design to teammates using design documents. 

  • Created all art assets for the game except for:

    • Water background​

    • Coins

    • Speech bubbles​​

  • Designed all crew members, player ship, obstacles and their mechanics.

  • Recorded verbal player feedback and conducted playtests.
