Happi

Augmented Reality Prototype (2025)

When entering the pharmacy, customers with a specific need in mind often feel overwhelmed choices by endless of products. This is especially amplified when customers are sick.  This can lead to customers making purchases they later regret.

This presents an opportunity to enhance a customers experience through the use of the AR application Happi. Happi allows users to make informed decisions by making product information easy to digest just by scanning the product's packaging. This makes customers feel empowered as they can make smart choices efficiently, leaving customers satisfied and increasing customer loyalty and revenue.

Made in a team of four.

Design Process

Designing for real world problems

I found that a lot of people encounter similar problems when shopping for pharmaceutical products. They don't understand the product or the differences between similar ones. I wanted to help people make informed decisions in their day to day life so they can save time and money by stopping them from buying products they regret.

Design Features:

  • Easily accessible application that can be used by scanning a QR code, no download required.

  • Information pop-ups that summaries key information with helpful icons.

  • Interactable visuals to see more and less product details.

  • A demonstration video pop-up where users can watch how to use the product.

  • A 3D model of what the product looks like to scale which allows users to see what it looks like without damaging the packaging.

What I did

  • Created an augmented reality high-fidelity, demonstrable prototype to solve a real-world problem.

  • Conducted a user evaluation of Happi to identify the theoretical and technical issues of the application.

  • Developed a project concept and proposal that reflect creative exploration and critical understanding of interactive works within my chosen problem space.

  • Presented the application to my peers as if they were real investors.

  • Made a draft of our happi video and was the main actor.

  • Conducted research on similar AR experiences and the problem space to make informed design choices.
